However, the attitude of both the Church at the foot of the mountain and Veda at the top towards the Dark Wings was no different from that of the World Tree. The Darkwing's original sin was being corrupted by the power of the Abyss, but if Zata's ancestors had not protected the World Tree, they would never have allowed themselves to be corrupted by the power emanating from the Abyssal Rift.
