What you don't know is, Darwin plans on giving the fairy to you. The fairy has been contained, and despite it's best efforts of resistance, it has been sealed to a guantlet that it's owner can wear, a guantlet that the fairy can't fly more than several feet from. The guantlet can also be used to call him back to you. He is destined to be your Fairy companion, no matter how much he drags his feet.
