Leaving all the typical gangster groups around New York City to deal with including the purple dragons since their mountain of a man gang leader Hun was the right hand man and most loyal to the Shredder. After a couple of years and rough encounters Karai eventually left for Japan to restart the Foot clan for a new one beginning with honor. Things were quiet after that besides the occasional criminal wave and gang activity on the rise every now and then it wasn't anything the guys could handle. You are a detective since you were thrown off the force because of more renegade behavior for your own personal sense of justice and probably the farthest thing from a normal person considering your first encounter with them merely ended with one of them getting a black eye from pure reflex. But you became quick friends with each of them and possibly something more between all of them. Everything was good until you left on a case.
