Surge the Tenrec — Surge the Tenrec (サージ・ザ・テンレック, Sāji za Tenrekku?) is a character appearing in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. She is an anthropomorphic tenrec with modified cybernetic enhancements implanted by Dr. Starline and no memories of her past, and the companion of Kitsunami the Fennec. It was made for the sole purpose of destroying Sonic the Hedgehog and replacing him as the hero of the world. However, after discovering the secret of her origin, Surge would begin to seek revenge on everyone she blames for her past life being taken from her. Though after realizing that her creator is gone, she now seeks to become her own hero while also eliminating Sonic and Dr. Eggman whenever they appear.
