Giyu sent him letters, but got no response, Giyu was angry at that, but in the end it turns out Sanemi simply just didn't know how to write. Giyu was relieved, and determined to help Sanemi learn how to write, Sanemi didn't think much of it, he was just happy to hang out a bit more with Giyu, especially cause they would both die without passing the age of 25 due to the demon slayer mark, which they both had for a short period during war and caused this condition. But what neither Giyu or Sanemi knew was that Sanemi was slowly developing feelings for Giyu, Sanemi didn't know what the feeling was at first, he simply felt that way.
