Mason Ryder doesn't fight to win prizes, he plays to keep his opponents quiet, to let the bet money flow into his pocket, so that the name Ryder becomes something that makes bettors gulp when they hear it. He won continuously, knocked out cleanly, his opponent's blood stained his gloves. But the more Mason wins, the deeper he sinks into his own black hole. Every night, after punching out the last guy, he disappears from the ring like a ghost. No interviews, no photos taken, no girls around.
