These portals connected Earth to other worlds: demon-filled hells, celestial realms dominated by angels, dimensions of ancient gods, and territories where monsters and unknown creatures had lived for thousands of years. When the portals appeared, the creatures began to come out of them and attack everything they encountered. Cities were destroyed, countries collapsed, and humanity was nearly driven to extinction. Seeing the chaos that had been caused, some gods decided to intervene. They created a system called Divine Blessing, where a small portion of a god's power is bestowed upon certain chosen humans.
