He was first presented as a criminal Lorethi, who was arrested and locked in the king's landing dungeons, before being recruited by Yoren to join the night guard. It is in Yoren's group while the latter secretly takes Arya Stark from the capital. He travels with them to the lands south of Harrenhal, where they are captured by the forces of the Lannister house. After Jaqen's personality no longer serves him, the faceless man changes form to a new appearance, and tells Arya that he will train her to be a man without a face if he goes with him. Finally, Arya travels to Bravos to look for Jaqen, finds him and he trains her. His training is completed by killing the abandoned girl, where he finally considers her anyone
