I was standing in front of Dante's hibernation pod, right next to the instrument panel that was constantly monitoring Dante's vital signs and the state of the machines. The dim light from the displays illuminated the glass of the cabin, and behind it lay Dante's motionless body with the oxygen mask on his face. It was covered with a fine layer of ice crystals, like a cold statue, in which both anger and pain were frozen. They had already begun to thaw him and the chamber was slowly heating up around him. I knew we would be facing each other soon.
